UK Forecast - April 08, 2021
Cloudy, dry east
Drizzle in west

Friday
A cold front becomes slow moving over the Midlands, southern England, Wales and southern Ireland on Friday. Lots of cloud here with some showery outbreaks of rain, with little change through the day. A fresher, brighter day in Northern Ireland, northern England and Scotland with some showers. These showers are most likely in northern Scotland where they will be wintry on the hills in the north. Highs at just 3C in northern Scotland. More widely we'll see temperatures of 6 to 8C while southern areas, ahead of the front, will see highs of 10 or 11C.

Friday Night
Overnight we see the cold front clear the far south of Ireland but linger over southern parts of England bringing further outbreaks of rain here into Saturday morning. Remaining cloudy for the far south of Ireland and over southern parts of England and Wales. Clearer skies elsewhere with wintry showers developing at times. These most likely over northern parts of Scotland. Overnight lows widely at -4 to -1C allowing for a widespread frost and ice patches to form. Slightly milder where we hold on to the cloud and rain at 1 to 3C.

Saturday
Low pressure to the south of the UK drifts east through the day bringing cloud and periods of rain across southeast England on Saturday. Some cloud and a few showers affecting southern and eastern Wales, the Midlands and northern England. Drier and brighter elsewhere with sunny spells, although still a risk of some showers in the north and west. A chilly day for all. Highs at 4C in northern Scotland, 8C in central parts of England but more widely at 6 or 7C for most.

Sunday
Low pressure over the Low Countries could bring further rain to East Anglia and southeast England early on Sunday. Some cloud through the Midlands and southern England, a risk of a few showers here. These showers could also affect eastern England. Brighter in Scotland, northwest England, Wales and Ireland and mostly dry too though a front arrives from the Atlantic later bringing rain, sleet and hill snow to northwest Scotland and Ireland. Another cold day with a widespread morning frost in the north and west. Daytime temperatures at 5 to 9C.
