A cool but fine start to the day over much of England and eastern Wales as well as eastern Scotland. Lots of sunshine and dry too. Thicker cloud in Ireland and western Scotland with light rain here as well as a stronger southwest wind. Cloud will be thickening through Scotland, northwest England and western Wales into this afternoon as fronts move closer to bring rain here, most of it in western Scotland. Further rain affects western Ireland where it stays breezy too. Dry in central and eastern England with more spells of sunshine. Highs at 18 to 23C.

Weak front over the far south of England bringing cloud and the risk of some spots of rain here. Drier for the rest of England, Wales and northern England as well as eastern Scotland. Showers are likely in the north and west of Scotland and these will be heavy at times. Windy in northwest Scotland too. Lows at 13 to 17C.

A cold front brings outbreaks of showery rain to much of central and southern England and Wales. The rain reaching southeast England in the afternoon. Becoming brighter across northern England, Scotland and Ireland as well as Wales. Some showers in northern and western Scotland, a few of these heavy. Windy in northwest and western Scotland as well as Northern Ireland. Tops at 21C in eastern England, 15C in western Scotland.

A front across southern England brings cloud and outbreaks of rain here. Most of it showery, but a few heavier bursts coming along as well. Showers in northern and western Scotland as well as northwest England and the north and west of Ireland. Drier in eastern areas with the best of the sunshine here. Some cloud through Wakes and the Midlands as well as East Anglia. Highs at 14 to 18C.
