Pockets of drizzle in central England, but mostly dry in the south and east. Frequent rain for western Scotland. Drier and brighter for eastern Scotland. Northern Ireland mainly dry. Light to moderate southwesterly breezes in the north, little wind in the south. Temperatures will reach 5 to 7°C.
Tuesday night Rain arrives in southern England and will persist through much of the night. Some drizzle spells may continue in northern England and Wales, though nothing substantial. Showers continue in western Scotland, some potentially heavier near to the coast. Winds mostly light and variable allowing for development of fog in some places. Lows of 3°C in most places, 5°C in southwest England.
Wednesday Slack low pressure influences Britain and Ireland. Morning rains in southeast England soon clear, followed by local patchy showery rain and a lot of cloud in most places. Grey skies and some low-level fog will dominate, some local glimpses of sun. Winds very light for most of the day. Breeze will begin to strengthen in southwest England and Ireland in the afternoon. Highs will be 5-6°C across most areas, up to 8°C in west Ireland.
Thursday Some local overnight frosts in north Scotland soon thawing. Showery rain arrives overnight as a front approaches from the west, becoming more persistent after dawn. The front passes east across Britain through the day bringing steady rain to all areas, briefly heavy. Some seaward hills may see moments of intense rain, particularly in Wales and Scotland. Higher terrain may see snow. Variable winds, increasing during the day. Temperatures ranging from 4°C in the north to 9°C in the south.
