Turning brighter in the rest of Scotland and Ireland, although another band of cloud and showery rain will be pushing south through the Shetland Isles and into northern England. Brighter and dry for England and Wales with broken cloud here and some good spells of sunshine. Some patchy rain ,ay affect northwestern hills in the afternoon. A few showers too along southern coasts of England this evening. Highs near 26C in the sunshine in the southeast, 22 to 25C for much of England and Wales. 14 to 19C in Scotland and 17 to 19C in Ireland.

The ridge also affects southern Ireland with some sunshine here too. Staying bright into the afternoon for most, again with sunny spells. Thicker cloud in central and northern Scotland, although bright and dry in the south. Rain and brisker winds in northern Scotland. Highs at 16C in northern Scotland, 21 to 25C for most areas.

Thundery showers will be developing in the afternoon, reaching southern coasts by the evening. A further area of cloud and rain will be moving into northwest Scotland. For other areas the day is going to be dry with sunny spells. Highs at 27C in southeast England, widely 23 to 26C but 18C in western Scotland.
