With high pressure across the south ridging up towards eastern areas, much of England and eastern areas of Wales will see a dry day with good spells of sunshine. Further north and west expect more cloud cover once again, some patchy rain about too, possibly turning heavy for a time across parts of west Scotland in the morning. Improving conditions across Ireland and Northern Ireland into the afternoon with only patchy rain for Scotland into parts of northern England later. Highs at 15 to 21C in the north and west but between 21 to 25C across much of England.
Staying largely cloudy across Scotland overnight with more rain pushing in to far western areas and in the north. Rain possibly becoming persistent for a time across the Northern Isles. Low cloud/mist and possible drizzle developing overnight across western areas of England, Wales and Ireland. Mainly dry elsewhere with clear spells. Lows at 10 to 15C.
More cloud cover towards the north and west of the UK and Ireland with patchy rain across the far west and far north of Scotland, looking to turn heavier for a time during the afteroon here and encroaching on to the northwest of Ireland. Some spots of rain possible across central and southern Scotland into the Borders. Largely dry elsewhere with sunny spells, however, mist and low cloud does look to affect western coasts and hills generally through much of the day. Highs at 20 to 27C.
High pressure builds in across the UK and Ireland on Friday giving a largely dry and fine day, however, there is the small risk of some patchy light rain across the north of Scotland and Northern Isles for a time. Cloudier skies for a time across the north as a weakened front moves through. Highs at 20 to 27C for many central and eastern areas, cooler towards the west.
