Tuesday
A breezy but bright day ahead as a westerly wind brings some broken cloud east across central and northern England this morning. The coud not lasting long though as the sun comes out again. Heavy showers for western Scotland and northwest England as well as northwest Ireland. Further heavy showers and longer spells of rain in western Scotland, northwest England and northern Ireland this afternoon, and there coul =e a spell of severe gales in Northern Ireland this evening, this transferring over northern England tonight. Elsewhere, apart from a few showers in west Wales, it should be dry with more sunny spells. Highs at 23C in southeast England, 15 to 17C north and west.

Tuesday Night
The area of severe gales crosses northern England tonight with gusts over 50mph. Some heavy showers will travel with the winds, before clearing east. Scattered showers and cloud over western coasts and hills, but dry for other areas with some clearer skies. A chilly night at 5C in Scotland, 8 to 10C elsewhere.
 

Wednesday
Low pressure northwest of Scotland on Wednesday brings another breezy day. Staying warm in the south and east but cooler in Scotland and Ireland. Winds here will become gale force in the west and there will be rain in much of northern and western Ireland as well as Scotland, again the heaviest in the west. Some rain in northwest England and north Wales by evening. Highs at 22C in the east and south of England, but a chilly 16C in Wales and Scotland, 18C in southwest England and Ireland.

Thursday
Another unsettled and windy day as the southwest wind brings rain, some heavy into the west during the morning. Heaviest rain is likely in central and western Scotland and northern England, some squalls here. Brighter, drier weather follows to Ireland and the rest of Scotland as the rain band crosses central, southern and eastern England through the afternoon. Gales for many, although the winds easing later. Highs at 23C in southeast England, 17C in Scotland, Ireland, Wales, western and northern England.
