Alexi: Happy New Year's Eve all. Enjoy the celebrations as the rain clears much of England through this evening but heads north into Scotland.

Alexi: For tonight weather rain looks to clear much of England and Wales and clear spells are likely to develop through parts of central and northern England. A mix of rain, sleet and snow across southern and central Scotland with the best of the conditions further north before midnight.

Alexi: Happy New Year's Eve all! We continue with unsettled weather; spells of rain, heavy in places, across England and Wales though milder here. Snow to northern Scotland drier elsewhere for now yet chilly.

Alexi: Lows drop close or even below zero through Scotland tonight, though stay above zero further south.

Alexi: After heavy and persistent rain this morning there is a lot of standing water about so be aware and careful if you are out and about.

Alexi: Heavy rain, sleet and snow in the north first thing this morning while the rain spreads across England and Wales.

Alexi: Winds ease back overnight with some clear spells and dry weather for many so lows dropping to close to freezing in the north. More rain pushes in by dawn on Friday.

Alexi: It's a sunshine and showers type of day, showers heavy in the west and falling as snow over hills in the north. A breezy day too.

Simon: A windy night for many, Showers, most in the west where some will be heavy. The showers wintry over the hills of Scotland.

Simon: Wet and windy today as fronts pass east through the country. Becoming mild in the south. Snow develops across the hills of central Scotland this afternoon. Becoming drier from the west.

Simon: Drier overnight as rain clears east. A few showers northwest Scotland. More rain in southwest later.

Simon: Cloudy and damp today with outbreaks of rain spreading east. Snow in central Scotland and becoming windy for England and Wales. More rain this evening this evening in Wales and England.

Simon: A frost for many of us tonight, mostly only slight but could be severe in parts of Scotland. Southwest Egland probably escaping.

Simon: Some heavy showers in Scotland this afternoon, some falling as snow on hills. Much colder for all.

Alexi: The south wakes to a wet start with rain progressively tracking northwards through the day, falling as snow towards higher ground further north.

Alexi: Mist and fog developing for some tonight with rain expected to reach southern and southwestern areas by morning.

Alexi: Plenty of cloud about too though some sunny spells too. Rain across central and southern areas gradually clears to the east while some showers affect the far north.

Alexi: A chilly night expected though not widely frosty, perhaps a few rural/isolated places could see a touch of frost though.

Alexi: Current temperatures suggesting not overly cool out there this lunchtime, but if you are exposed to the brisk wind further north and west it is feeling much cooler.

Alexi: A mixed day with rain and showers at times moving in from the west. Generally milder further south and cooler in the north.

Simon: A cool night with a touch of ground frost in more rural parts of Wales, and a frost in central Scotland.

Simon: What a weather change today! A much milder day, wit plenty of cloud and outbreaks of rain in the west and south. Some of the rain may be heavy. Windy, severe gales in the west and south.

Simon: More rain and sleet for Wales and northern England this afternoon, causing further icy roads and pavements. Snow showers continue in northern and western Scotland. Mild air gathering in the Atlantic ready to infiltrate tomorrow and Monday!

Alexi: Another cold night ahead for many but not all seeing a severe frost redevelop with some places perhaps not even dropping below zero.

Alexi: Rain sleet and snow still moving in across central Scotland this afternoon.

Alexi: Snow already transitioning into rain across the Central Belt of Scotland now. Snow will continue to fall though just to the north of here.

Alexi: Good morning all, the overnight minimum temperatures dropped down to minus double figures for many last night. how much longer will this continue?!

Alexi: Another bitterly cold and frosty night it to be expected. Expect some lows to drop again to minus double figures.

Alexi: A few more days of very cold conditions then wetter and milder flow moves in from Sunday.

Alexi: Bracing ourselves for yet anther cold night ahead with minimums well below freezing for most, minus double figures for some!

Alexi: The cold northerly flow continues for a few more days but models are in agreement for a milder trend to come about Sunday into Monday.

Alexi: Another bitterly cold day with a severe frost once again. Some places got down to -12C last night! Snow showers to the far north and down eastern coasts of England. Sunshine for most though cloudier across the far south

Simon: Here we go with another freezing night. Widespread, severe frost and icy for many areas.

Simon: Another very cold day ahead for Tuesday. Some sleet and snow in northern Scotland. Increasing cloud and wind in SW England and Southern Ireland bringing sleet and some snow. Best brightness in Northern England, Scotland and N Ireland.

Simon: Temperatures falling quickly this evening and overnight. Generally around -2 to -3C where there is some cloud, widely -10 to 12C over the snow fields of northern England and Scotland. Icy for all.

Simon: Another very cold day ahead. Freezing fog patches clearing then many areas dry. Rain and sleet in western Scotland this morning should fade, although staying damp in Orkney. Best sunshine Scotland, northern England and West Wales.

Simon: More snow this afternoon across parts of the central and southern Midlands. Further snow showers northern Scotland. Another area of snow moving into southeast England.

Garry: A cold, frosty and foggy night ahead. The freezing fog is likely to persist through Sunday and Monday for much of central England and eastern Wales. Local snow showers around coastal fringes and a risk of ice.

Garry: Sleet and snow continues to feed in across eastern Scotland, also west and north Wales, into Lancashire and the western Pennines. Showery in southwest England too with hill snow. Sunshine for central-eastern England and western Scotland.

Garry: Clusters of showers today with sleet and snow, focused on eastern Scotland, north and west Wales, also into the Manchester area. Rain on lowest ground near coasts. Some bright spells elsewhere but cold.

Alexi: Another widespread severe frost is expected tonight with lows expected to drop to around -7C in places.

Alexi: Another cold day, bitterly cold in the north with temperatures this lunchtime struggling to rise much above freezing.

Alexi: A weak front with some persistent snowfall on it is currently moving southwards down through central into some southern parts of Scotland though no fizzling out. A hard and widespread frost this morning has seen many wake up to a bitter chill.

Alexi: Another widespread frost tonight, severe in some places. Starting very cold tomorrow for many.

Alexi: Frequent snow showers push on to the Cairngorms this late morning into afternoon.

Alexi: A widespread frost last night with a cold start for many this morning. A day of mostly dry weather and sunny spells, some coastal showers, snow in northern Scotland.

Alexi: Showers mainly focused towards eastern areas now. Plenty of sunny spells out there today but continuing to feel cold.

Simon : Falling temperatures over the coming days with highs near 1 to 3C for many. Some snow showers too, mostly in the north and east.

Simon: Cool and rather cloudy for many today. A few Monday showers affecting eastern areas, these continue through the day. he best of any sunshine in the west, and through central Scotland.

Simon: Cold again today with some showers affecting eastern England and eastern Scotland. A few breaking out in Wales and southern England too. Always the best sunny spells in the west.

Garry: Showers will continue to affect eastern counties tonight, some extending all the way west across Britain on an easterly breeze. Chilly with a touch of frost in sheltered spots tonight.

Garry: A chilly feeling day out there in the breeze, with a few showers in eastern regions. Brighter with some sun in central and western regions. Rain and drizzle in northwest Scotland through today.

Alexi: It should be a brighter start for more Saturday morning but we need to watch for the winds picking up as making it feel much cooler.

Alexi: Cloudy, murky and damp out there today for many in the north. Some brighter spells are developing in places further south though.

Alexi: Mist and fog across England and Wales will gradually lift for many with brighter spells developing. Largely dry but thee are some showers about pushing in on a developing easterly wind.

Alexi: A largely dry night ahead with more mist and fog expected to develop through the night.

Alexi: Again there is quite a contrast in the temperatures across the country. Ireland, Northern Ireland as well as northern and western Scotland are in double figures, while much of the rest of us sit under cloud and or mist and fog making it feel much colder.
