Claire: Once again, extensive mist and fog patches are expected to form overnight tonight. Area most at risk are the Midlands, central and south Wales, southern England and East Anglia.

Claire: Cloud thickens over northwestern areas this afternoon bringing some light, patchy rain into the northwest of Scotland. Best of the sun this afternoon over northeastern and southwestern parts of the UK.

Claire: A chilly start over northern areas today. Milder further south but with extensive mist and fog patches here. These will slowly clear through the day though it will stay rather cloudy for most. Best of the sun over northeast Scotland.

Alexi: Rain across northern England will fizzle out to allow for a largely dry night. It will be a chilly night in parts of Scotland where it will drop below freezing level.

Alexi: Once again much of England and Wales has woken up to mist and fog. There will also be some patchy spells of rain about across parts of Wales and central areas of England which will move northwards through the day. Elsewhere should remain largely dry.

Alexi: Overnight tonight, mist and fog will develop again across parts of Wales, England and Ireland. Expect some patchy rain across western and central Scotland as well as southwest England and south Wales by dawn.

Claire: A cold front tracks south over Wales and central England tonight bringing thick cloud and patchy rain here. A chilly night to the north of this, much milder to the south.

Claire: Some very lively showers over the Northern Isles this morning with westerly gales blowing here too. Several lightning strikes have been recorded along with wind gusts of 71mph in Lerwick, 63mph in Kirkwall and 58 mph in Fair Isle.
