Simon: Latest model indications are that the main snow risk area is now South Wales, the south Midlands and Home counties, as well as the London area and southern England through this afternoon, this evening and overnight.

Simon: The snow showers are becoming lighter i the west now, although there are still a few heavy ones in northwest Scotland. It's sunny and fine to the east. However, as the sun sets temperatures will be falling quickly leading to icy patches.

Simon: Latest thoughts are that outbreaks of snow arrive in Wales and over the high ground of southwest England and Ireland on Thursday afternoon, then edge north into Wales, the Midlands, eastern and southern England by evening and overnight.

Simon: All eyes are on the snow potential for Tuesday. Wales, the Midlands and northern England most at risk in the afternoon, but this threat then transfer east in the late afternoon and evening.

Claire: There have been some strong wind gusts across the UK & Ireland this morning. Aberporth has recorded a gust of 64mph; St Marys has seen a 60mph gust; Malin Head 58mph; Ronaldsway 57mph; and Mountbatten has seen 52mph. The strongest winds will slowly move to the east through the day.
