Rain, sleet and snow this morning, improving for most this afternoon

Good morning,

A wet morning in central and southern England with wet snow falling in central parts of England and Wales. A chance of some patchy snow over higher ground here. The rain, sleet and wet snow moving into East Anglia during the morning. Drier and brighter weather follows to the west, staying cold with a few showers here. Improving in this afternoon for most, although breezy with some sunny spells and scattered wintry showers.


Drier in Scotland ad Ireland, but some snow showers in northern and western Scotland, further snow showers in northern and western parts of Ireland. Drier in eastern areas of Ireland and eastern Scotland. Dry overnight with widespread frost together with ice on roads and pavements by tomorrow morning. Increased cloud bringing rain, drizzle, mist and murk to southern Ireland, western Wales and southwest England by morning.
