Issued: 0530hrs Monday 6 November 2017
Duty forecaster: John Ejdowski

We have a mixed week to come and today a front brings spells of rain and drizzle into northern and western parts of Britain. Much of this will be on the light side but heavier rain affects north west Scotland. A cold start with a local frost across England and Wales. Eastern Scotland along with central, southern and eastern England will have a fine, dry day with sunshine that turns hazy as high cloud invades from the west in the afternoon. Quite windy as well in the north and west. High temperatures will range from 9 to 11 Celsius north to south.

A windy evening with an area of heavy rain to affect Northern Ireland and western Scotland with patchy rain into central areas of England. Overnight that area of rain affects Scotland, north west and south west England and Wales. Very windy across England and Wales tonight. Not as cold tonight with the wind, cloud and rain. Expect minimum temperatures of 5 to 10 Celsius.

If you are heading abroad eastern Europe will be cold but dry. Very heavy spells of rain accompanied by gales affect the central Mediterranean.
