Morning Call - December 17, 2024
Windy, risk of gales
Increasing showers, strongest west

Issued: 0530hrs Tuesday 17th December 2024
Duty forecaster: Dan Graves

Drizzle west and murky, though bright periods will occur.

Good morning,

The days-long westerly wind will be interrupted today by a low pressure system passing southwest to northeast across the British Isles. Winds will shift to the southwest and increase throughout the day with risk of gales along western coasts. A blanket of cloud will be present in all areas.

This afternoon sees increasing rain and drizzle in western areas of England, Wales and Scotland. The clouds may be quite low around hills and produce areas of heavier rain. Western Scotland remains a strong candidate for these rains, keeping things very damp. Isolated showers possible elsewhere.

Temperatures remaining mild with highs at 9 to 11C remaining steady into the evening.

Enjoy the day!
-Dan
