Gales and rain England and Wales, brighter and fresher Scotland and Ireland although showers in west

Another windy start to the morning through much of England and Wales, the winds easing in Ireland. Rain through southern Scotland, western England and Wales but drier in central and eastern areas. Brighter with some showers in Ireland and western Scotland where they could be heavy.

Heavy periods of rain moving through northern England, the Midlands, Wales and southwest England during this morning. Sunny spells and mostly dry in Ireland, a few showers in the west and feeling fresher. More sunny spells for Scotland with showers north and west. The heavier rain into East Anglia and southeast England this afternoon as the sunshine arrives in Wales and northern England.

The rain not clearing East Anglia and southeast England until the early hours of Thursday morning. Clear skies and lighter winds in other areas. Showers over wes Wales and southeast England with strong winds and heavy showers in western Scotland.
