Outbreaks of rain spread northwestward across the country through the day today. The heaviest rain expected to the southwest of the UK and over eastern parts of England and Scotland.

A cloudy start to the day and wet for many as rain affects much of England, Ireland, Wales and Northern Ireland through the morning. The heaviest and most persistent rain for Ireland and the southwest UK though there will eb heavier bursts elsewhere. A drier start for Scotland with just occasional showers before heavier more persistent rain moves into southern parts of the country through the late morning.


The afternoon sees rain easing for southeastern and eastern parts of England and for western Ireland. The heaviest rain likely to be in a band extending from northeast England through the West Midlands and eastern Wales to southwest England. Rain also persists through the afternoon for southern parts of Ireland and southeast Scotland. Feeling milder with highs ranging from 7C in the north to 11 or 12C in the far southeast.


Rain becomes increasingly showery for England, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland through Saturday evening but becomes heavier and more persistent over much of Scotland with the heaviest rain to the east.
