Windy in Scotland with rain, milder and dry for other areas

This morning is windy in Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as northern England. Lots of cloud here as well as rain afecting Scotland, heaviest in the west. Drier and mild in the south of the UK and southern Ireland, although low cloud and drizzle affecting southwestern coasts and hills. Gales could occur in Scotland.

This afternoon sees the rain slipping south into northern England and southern Scotland. Turning drier in the far north of Scotland, sunshine developing here as cooler air arrives. Staying cloudy for much of England, Wales and southern Ireland although some rain in northern England.

Overnight the rain band slips south through northern England and Wales by midnight, then through central and southwest as well as eastern England during the early hours. Windy with showers further north, some heavy in western Scotland.
