Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 26th March 2021
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

After a mostly dry and fine start to the day, an area of low pressure arrives from the west bringing outbreaks of rain and strengthening winds across western and northwestern parts of the British Isles. Gales affect exposed locations in the west. Staying dry but increasingly cloudy for central and southeastern parts of England.

Good Morning,

It's a dry and fine start to the weekend for many with plenty of sunshine across the UK this morning. Cloudier for Ireland and over western coasts and hills where there could be some isolated showers. Cloud thickens over Ireland and western parts of the UK through the morning with rain arriving over western Ireland by lunchtime.

Cloud thickens across the UK during the afternoon while rain spreads across Ireland and Northern Ireland into western and central Scotland as well as over higher ground in the northwest of England and Wales. Winds pick up too reaching gale force for exposed locations in the west.

Outbreaks of rain continue for Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and northwest England into Saturday evening. Staying dry but cloudy for much of central and southeast England. Winds continue to strengthen too with gales affecting exposed locations in the north and west.

Have a good day!

Claire
