Duty forecaster: Donal Considine

Good morning,

A muggy start for most this morning, with broken cloud extending throughout most of the British Isles. It will be mostly dry however, with some isolated showers sprinkled along west coasts of Britain. As the morning progresses, showers will become more intense, more widespread and possibly thundery.
Scattered heavy showers will become more widespread this afternoon with thunder likely. The heaviest downpours will be in the west of Scotland, western England and Wales, as well as the south-east of Ireland. It will be considerably drier but with broken cloud in Northern Ireland, the west and north-west of Ireland and along north-eastern coasts of Britain, with some isolated showers possible here. Highs of 19 to 24C throughout the British Isles, a cooler 15 to 18C along the west of Ireland and through much of Scotland.
Like Monday, showers will ease into the evening with a mostly dry night in store. Some heavy scattered showers will persist along western areas of Scotland and Northern England throughout the night.
