Very warm, best sunshine in the east and south, rain in the northwest
A very warm and largely fair day ahead. There will be some bright or sunny spells this morning, the best in the east. Always cloudier over western coasts and hills with a risk of some drizzle here and there. More persistent drizzle may affect western parts of Ireland and northwest Scotland with an increasing threat of drizzle on the coasts.
This afternoon sees more persistent rain arriving in northern and western Scotland. Damp in the far north of Ireland and perhaps damp over western coasts of Ireland too. Most other areas stay dry with broken cloud and sunny spells, the best of them in the east. Temperaures into the mid-20's across southeast England, widely 22C with very warm weather in southern Ireland and eastern England.
The rain slips south through the rest of Scotland and north and west of Ireland on Tuesday. Drier in the east and south with clearer spells.
