Thundery rain in south. Fresher and drier further north.
More cloud across England and Wales this morning with thundery rain pushing north across southwest England into Wales, the Midlands towards Lincolnshire. Staying largely dry and hot across southeastern areas of England though the odd heavier shower cannot be ruled out. Further north, drier, fresher though showers expected in the far west of Scotland and Ireland. Windy through Scotland too.
The afternoon sees the thundery rain to continue across much of Wales, the Midlands and through Lincolnshire area where it is liekly to be blustery. Southeastern areas staying largely dry and hot. Showers merging into longer spells of rain across north and west Scotland, windy here still. Showery rain also affecting northwest Ireland into Northern Ireland. Largely dry with some sunny spells elsewhere.
Overnight, that heavy thundery rain continues across parts of southwest England, south Wales through the Midlands towards Lincolnshire but also affects more of the far southeast of England. Dry for many inbetween here. Further north it will be fresher with a moderate north-westerly wind. Showery rain affecting the Highlands and islands. Some showers along northern and western coasts too but mainly dry otherwise.
