Morning Call - February 12, 2018
Sunshine for many
Snow showers west

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 12th February 2018
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Snow and rain arrives from west tonight

Good morning,

A cool westerly flow influences the British Isles, backing south to southwesterly as fronts approach from the west later. Pressure builds a little from the south.

Dry and bright for many central and eastern regions today, with just scattered wintry showers spreading from the west on a light to moderate westerly breeze. Good spells of sunshine for many places.

Showery in the west, with snow or hail, most frequent around coasts. A trough of low pressure will move in from the west this evening, bringing rain and snow to Ireland, then western Britain overnight. Winds will strengthen to gale force around southern and western coasts.

Today's top temperatures will be 3 to 5C, or locally up to 7C in the south-east. Feeling chilly in the breeze.

Have a great day.
