Morning Call - August 18, 2019
Sunshine & showers
Staying breezy

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 18th August 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Another blustery day ahead for the British Isles. Showers mainly for northern and western areas. Plenty of sunshine around.

Good morning,

There will be some outbreaks of rain through the morning for Ireland, western parts of Scotland, west Wales and northwest England while showers, some heavy, spread across the Midlands and eastern parts of Scotland. A separate band of rain affects southeastern parts of England too through the morning as a front grazes this part of the country at times. A breezy morning for all.

It continues breezy through the afternoon with gusts of 35 to 40mph possible over higher ground and more exposed locations particularly over northern England and southern Scotland. Rain also continuing for western areas while isolated showers could affect central and northern parts of England. A drier afternoon to the southeast but staying bright for most of us with good spells of sunshine at times. High temperatures typically ranging from 14C in the northwest to 21C in the southeast.

Showers and rain typically ease through Sunday evening tough could persist for western Scotland, coastal parts of Wales and the far west of Ireland.

Have a good day!
Claire
