Further showers for western areas through the morning but these mostly easing, allowing some sunny spells to develop. There will still be a lot of cloud around though and more rain is expected for Ireland later.
It's a rather cloudy start to the weekend across the UK and Ireland though it will be bright first thing for eastern parts of England and Scotland. Some light rain or drizzle for western Scotland and the Orkney Islands, western Ireland and northwest Wales first thing too. Showers continuing for western areas through the morning perhaps developing into prolonged spells of rain for northwest Scotland and Cumbria.
Through the afternoon rain should ease for Scotland which will allow some brighter spells to develop while a band of heavier, more prolonged rain will edge into southwestern Ireland. Showers will also continue across northern England though to the south and across Wales lower cloud should break allowing for some sunny spells to develop. High temperatures at 14 to 18C across Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland, 20 to 23C for England and Wales. Parts of the southeast could reach 25 or 26C.
Rain will continue to spread across the island of Ireland into the evening while scattered showers will persist across southern Scotland and northern England. Dry elsewhere with varying amounts of cloud around.
Have a great day!
