Morning Call - March 02, 2020
Sunny spells and showers
Strong winds west

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 2nd March 2020
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A mixture of sunny spells and showers for most areas today. Early rain clears from eastern England while parts of Scotland, and perhaps Northern Ireland, see outbreaks of rain and hill snow. Showers will be focussed to the west of Ireland, Wales and England but may spread across central and eastern areas at times. Windy to the west with coastal gales affecting parts of western Ireland and southwest Scotland at times.

Good Morning,

Early rain and gusty winds clear southeastern parts of England through the morning while it's a mostly bright and dry start for the rest of the country. Showers, some of them wintry, affect western coasts and hills with a more prolonged spell of rain and hill snow developing over parts of Northern Ireland and western Scotland later. Windy to the west as well.

Rain clears Northern Ireland through the afternoon though a band of rain, sleet and snow spreads across Scotland affecting most areas bar the far northeast. Elsewhere scattered showers spread across Ireland, Wales and England, some of which will be wintry. Good spells of sunshine through developing over southern areas between showers. Staying windy to the west with coastal gales for western parts of Ireland and southwest Scotland.

Outbreaks of rain and snow affect parts of Scotland into the evening while showers become more confined to western parts of England, Ireland and Wales. Staying mostly dry for central and eastern parts of Ireland and England. Winds easing to the west though staying strong to the west of Ireland.

Have a good day!

Claire
