Morning Call - January 03, 2025
Sunny and cold
Southwest clouds later

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 3rd January 2025
Duty forecaster: Dan Graves

Frosty morning and a sunny day, clouds arrive later.

Another frost this morning is quite widespread. Again, bountiful sun during the day in many places, but it will stay cold. Less sunny in north and west Scotland as winds push showers onto the coasts. Some showers may graze Britain's east coast.

England will see thawing by the afternoon with top temps around 3C in the south and east. Higher terrain in the north may hold onto the frost. Further north, highs of 0 to 1C will maintain frost in the shade.

Clouds encroach from the southwest past dusk as a low pressure system drifts towards Ireland. Southwest England and Wales may get some rain and snow in the overnight hours. Colder areas like valleys will see frost again, though highly variable as temperatures bottom out near 0C in most places.

Enjoy some more sunshine!
