Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 1st August 2024 Duty forecaster: Dominik Majer
Mostly sunny & dry, local thunderstorms in England and Wales, brief showers Ireland and Scotland.
Some leftover thundery showers from the overnight locally in England, central, east and southeast parts most likely to get one. Away from those mostly sunny with little to no clouds. Different in Ireland and western Scotland, there low cloud often covering the sky in the morning, locally brief light shower possible.
During the day, in Scotland and Ireland clouds breaking, clearing the sky in the afternoon in places. Shower risk decreasing.
In England however, after morning showers drift away to the east, afternoon lets new thunderstorm cells develop. Thundery showers may occur anywhere in England and Wales, but are most likely in the south and southeast.
Calm or light winds, little more breezy on the western coasts of Ireland and Scotland.
Very warm again in England with widely 22-26C and up to 30C in East Anglia and in the southeast. Cooler in Ireland, Scotland and Wales - mostly between 18 and 22C.
Have a good day, Dominik
