High pressure brings hot sunny weather to most. Early cloud in Scotland and Ireland, much of this fading.

Good morning,

High pressure begins it's trip northward across the British Isles today. A sunny and warm start in the south, cloudier to start over Scotland and Ireland. As the day goes, the hot and sunny conditions will push northward; extensive sunshine across England and Wales through afternoon. The sun will be less extensive in Ireland, but with time increasingly common, as well as in eastern Scotland. A southwesterly wind in the western Scottish Highlands will keep a veil of cloud over this hills and coasts here, with a muting effect on temperature as well: highs only approaching 17C under this cloud. Eastern Scotland and Ireland will see highs to 25C. Further south, much of England approaches at least 28C with highs to 36C in the south of England.

Little change overnight as skies remain clear across England. Southern and eastern parts of Ireland, Wales and Scotland stay clear of cloud as well; western areas will see some cloud rebuild as temperatures drop. Perhaps a few spots of drizzle on western hills of Ireland and Scotland, but nearly everywhere stays dry. Lows of 17C central England, to 20C around London and the home counties. Further north and west, lows approach 12 or 13C.
