Outbreaks of rain further south
A bright and chilly start in the north and far east, though generally a cloudier day for most as lower pressure moves in. Outbreaks of rain affect Northern Ireland, Wales and southern English counties through the morning, while drier further north.
Rain continues to push eastwards during the afternoon, falling heavy at times across central and southern England. Rain largely clearing Wales while pushing into northwest England and southwest Scotland. Dry further north and east.
Outbreaks of rain continue to push eastwards overnight into eastern and northern counties of England as well as the Borders. Many staying dry though some showers affecting Wales and southwest England.
