Patchy rain west and south, drier elsewhere with sunny spells
Low pressure passes close to southern England today, bringing cloud and some outbreaks of rain to many southern coasts. Wintry showers are going to be affecting Scotland, the heaviest of them in the west where they could be wintry. Fewer showers elsewhere this morning, and brighter too.
During this afternoon a few showers will be troubling central and western parts of England and Wales as well as much of Ireland. Eastern parts of England and eastern Scotland should be dry and bright. Further showery outbreaks of rain this evening in western Wales, western England and western Scotland. Eastern England and eastern Scotland staying dry.
