Morning Call - May 11, 2021
Showers, heavy later
Drier far south

Issued: 0530hrs Tuesday 11th May 2021
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Heavy showers developing through the day, some thundery

Another showery day ahead. Dry and bright in many areas this morning. However, showers are going to be developing fairly quickly, mostly in Wales and across southern England. The showers turn steadily heavier as they spread north through the morning. Rain may affect northwest Scotland, but Ireland is looking mostly dry and bright, apart from some rain in the far south.

The heavy showers reaching northern England and southern Scotland this afternoon, turning increasingly thundery and perhaps becoming prolonged in eastern areas. Further heavy showers in Wales and southwest England, tending to become lighter in the far south. Scattered showers for eastern and southern Ireland.

Tonight there will be some rain in northern Scotland with a further area of rain and showers in eastern Ireland and western Wales.
