Heavy, thundery showers for many today, particularly for central and northern parts of the country. Best of the dry weather to the south.
A dry and bright start to the day for many across the UK and Ireland this morning though there will be some light rain for western coasts of Ireland and some heavy showers affecting western parts of Scotland and Wales and the northwest of England.
Rain and showers spreading east across Ireland and the UK through the morning intensifying to give some very heavy, thundery downpours across northern and central parts of England, much of Scotland and northern Wales. Rain intensifying too for western Ireland. Through the afternoon thundery downpours and outbreaks of rain will clear from western parts of Ireland, England and Scotland and from Wales to leave some good spells of sunshine here. High temperatures at 18 to 21C for the island of Ireland, Scotland, Wales and northwest and southwest England. Highs of 22 to 26C for central, eastern and southern parts of England.
Heavy showers persisting over eastern parts of Scotland, Ireland and England through the evening while further showers will begin to move into western parts of the UK.
Have a good day!
