Morning Call - June 02, 2019
Showers & outbreaks of rain
Very windy at times in the west

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 2nd June 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Showers and outbreaks of rain affecting most areas today with the exception of the far southeast. Windy at times too in the west.

Good morning,

It's a rather wet and windy start to the day today for many across Ireland and Scotland. Rain should have cleared the far west of Ireland first thing and it should be dry but somewhat overcast across much of England and Wales with the exception of far western parts where there will be some rain edging in.

Rain will continue to clear to the east of Ireland through the morning to leave some good sunny spells here and it will also become increasingly light and patchy over Scotland away from the far west and southwest. A band of rain will spread eastward through Wales and further into western England through the morning with some heavy showers ahead of this over northeastern England.

Further showers and heavier bursts of rain will edge into western parts of Ireland through the afternoon accompanied by strong winds while showers and rain over England, Scotland and Wales will become increasingly light and scattered through the afternoon to allow the development of some good spells of sunshine. High temperatures widely at 19 to 24C across much of England though the southeast could see 26C. Across the island of Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the southwest of England highs are more likely to be in the range of 13 to 18C.

Further rain and strong winds for the northern half of Ireland spreading into western Scotland through the evening while elsewhere it will become increasingly dry and bright.

Have a great day!
