Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 25th December 2024 Duty forecaster: Dan Graves
Rain in northwest, winds gradually easing from the south.
Good morning,
No white Christmas for us this year unfortunately. High pressure dominates keeping weather generally settled and mostly cloudy. Central England and eastern areas may have brighter spells or some lucky sunlight. Patchy drizzle is possible in most areas. Breezier in the north and west, with some light rain over the northwestern Highlands and northwestern Ireland. It will be a mild day with temperatures at 10 or 11C, up to 13C in Ireland.
High pressure slowly pushes northward into the night gradually calming winds. Clouds with some broken patches will dominate and fog may build overnight in southern England. Rain continues in Scotland, pushing inland and south towards the Central Belt. England and Wales see lows of 5C, 8 to 9C in Ireland and Scotland.
Merry Christmas! The days are getting brighter, slowly but surely. -Dan
