Morning Call - January 23, 2024
Rain, wind, mild
Most rain in west

Issued: 0530hrs Tuesday 23rd January 2024
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Rain and drizzle spreading east, increasingly windy and mild

Dry in the east this morning but rather cloudy here. Winds are already increasing and the rain and drizzle in Ireland and western Scotland, Wales and western England wil be spreading quickly eastwards. It will be turning increasingly mild though thanks to the southwest wind.

This afternoon sees the rain being heavy in parts of western Wales, northwest England and western Scotland. Drizzly for southern coasts and there will be fog over the hills of the west and south. Cloudy elsewhere with spots of rain, winds reaching gale force. Staying mild too.

Tonight is windy with gales being widespread. Gusts of 60 to 70mph in western and northern areas. More rain fort western Scotland with a few showers over other western coasts and hills. Drier for more inland areas. Staying mild.
