Rain then showers, heavy in the west, becoming windy
Dry at first this morning across northern Scotland and the east of England, a few bright spells to start the day. Rain in the west will be pushing quickly eastwards and some of the rain will be heavy and thundery, especially across southern Scotland, northern England, Wales, central and southern England. Heavy showers, following into Ireland. Quickly becoming windy in the west.
This afternoon sees the rain clearing from eastern coast of England, although it stays wet in southern Scotland. Heavy and frequent showers for Ireland, some heavy showers to affecting western and southern coasts of Wales and England. Most inland areas will become brighter with sunny spells. Showers in northern and central Scotland. Gales for western and southern areas.
Tonight sees showers almost everywhere. These will be most heavy and frequent across northern western areas and there is a risk of thunderstorms. It is going to be a windy night as well.
