Eastern areas dry until late
Good morning,
Low pressure is moving in from the Atlantic and will bring a few unsettled days ahead with frequent bursts of rain, brisk winds and rather poor temperatures.
Today, a front advances into western Britain early in the day, with rain for Wales and the southwest in the morning, plus some heavy and persistent falls across Northern Ireland. Areas of rain also affect Scotland in the morning.
Blustery southeasterly winds, turning southwesterly later, locally up to gale force around coasts in the southwest.
A dry and bright morning for the Midlands and eastern regions of England, but cloud will build from the west and areas of rain will advance north and eastwards across England into the afternoon. Further heavy and thundery showers will follow for Wales and the southwest.
The east coast of England plus areas around the Moray Firth may well stay dry until evening or night.
Today's top temperatures will reach 22C in eastern England and northeast Scotland, but nearer 16 to 18C in western areas of Britain.
Have a great day. Garry
