Rain in Scotland
Fine to the south

Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 19th September 2021
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Fair south with lots of sunshine, cloudier north with some rain in Scotland

A fine morning across much of England and Wales. Some good spells of sunshine in many areas, although there may be a few mist patches in more rural areas at first. Thicker cloud in Scotland, Ireland and northern England. Dry for most areas although rain through central and western Scotland as well as the far northwest of Ireland.

This afternoon stays fine for most of England and Wales. Coud increasing in Ireland and northern England with some more rain for Scotland and northwest Ireland. However the rain here should become lighter and more patchy. Staying dry and warm to the south.

Tonight sees patchy rain slipping into northern England and then through southern Ireland and Wales, although this will only be very light. More persistent rain and heavy showers for northwest Scotland. Dry for the majority of areas with some clear skies.
