Wet north and west with some heavy rain here, drier north and south

A wet morning through northern England, wales and eastern Ireland. rain could be heavy with low cloud over hills and casts, mainly in the north and west. Tending to become drier in the far south of England, cloudy and mild although with some drizzle and mist on coasts. The rain also affects southeast Scotland with brighter weather in northwest Scotland and western Ireland.

This afternoon is still wet in northern England, the heaviest of the rain clearing eastwards. Still drizzly in western areas although plenty of low cloud and mist Some brighter spells developing in the drier southeast. Scotland and Ireland are bright too with sunny spells.

Dry with broken cloud overnight, some clear skies as rain clears eastwards. Mist and fog patches could form by morning in parts of the Midlands, Wales and northern England. Turning cloudier in Scotland and Ireland.
