A band of rain spreads east.

Cloudy skies for Ireland with outbreaks of rain, this perhaps heavy in south and west for a time. Over Scotland expect some light patchy rain mostly in west, turning heavy over Western Isles and Strathclyde later, but brighter over the east coast. A dry bright start for England and Wales, but increasingly cloudy from the west with some light patchy rain over Wales and western parts of England later in the afternoon. Maximum temperatures at 17C in north, but reaching 22-23C over the south.

Rain will gradually spread east over England and Scotland, but it will become more light and patchy and will become confined over southeast England by early Saturday morning. Drier weather following on the back. Minimum temperatures at 10C in north and 14C in south.
