Rain through Wales and central areas tracks northwards
A bright and sunny yet blustery day across much Scotland though some scattered showers and gales in the far north. More cloud across England and Wales this morning with outbreaks of rain across parts of Wales reaching across into the Midlands.
The afternoon sees the rain turn heavy with persistent spells across north and west Wales. Cloudy with outbreaks of rain also cotninuing to affect the Midlands area and further north to here stretching across towards Yorkhire. Drier elsewhere with warm sunshine across the far south and southeast.
Overnight, the front of rain will affect Wales, the Midlands into northern England and progressively move northwards into the Borders and southern Scotland by dawn while clearing much of Wales. Meanwhile, scattered showers on to western Scotland, otherwise elsewhere will stay dry. Best of the clear spells across southern and southeast England.
