Morning Call - October 26, 2020
Rain & winds ease
Bright end to day

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 26th October 2020
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Showers and outbreaks of rain affect many today, especially to the west. A transient ridge of higher pressure building from the southwest causes showers and rain to fade through the afternoon for many areas allowing for a mostly dry and clear evening. Feeling cold in the north.

Good Morning,

A wet start to the week for many in western areas this morning with fronts bringing outbreaks of rain through western parts of England and Scotland as well as through Wales. Western parts of Ireland and Northern Ireland see a scattering of showers along with eastern Scotland. It will be windy over Ireland and western parts of the UK. Tending drier for central and eastern England as well as southeast Scotland.

Showers and patchy rain continue through the early part of the afternoon over western areas but, as a ridge of higher pressure builds to the southwest, these tend to fade as we head towards the evening with longer spells of afternoon sunshine for many. Continuing breezy over western areas though winds start to ease from the south.

Into the evening and only isolated showers affect western coasts and hills of England, Scotland and Wales. Winds slacken across the country. A clear evening for most though cloud starts to build from the southwest over Ireland as Tuesday's weather system arrives.

Have a good day!

Claire
