Morning Call - January 06, 2020
Outbreaks of rain
Windy

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 6th January 2020
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A band of rain sweeps from west to east across the country today with drier, brighter conditions following to the west behind it. A breezy day across the country too with gales for some western and northern areas.

Good Morning,

A dry start to the day for eastern Scotland and much of England and Wales with the best of any brightness to the southeast. Further west a band of heavy rain crosses Ireland through the morning and into Northern Ireland, western Scotland, Wales and western parts of England by lunchtime. Strong winds, reaching gale force for some, affect western and northern areas.

Rain sweeps across the rest of England through the afternoon clearing the far southeast by evening. Behind this, drier and brighter conditions follow for western and northern areas though it remains windy. Some showers persist for nrothwestern Scotland too. High temperatures range from 7 to 11C.

Showers ease into Monday evening leaving a dry and clear end to the day.

Have a good day!

Claire
