Outbreaks of rain south
Showers west

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 12th January 2020
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Outbreaks of rain affect central and southern parts of England as well as Wales through the morning but these clear to the east. Showers affect western coasts and hills of Scotland and Ireland and these turn to snow over higher ground. Drier and brighter to east. A breezy day with the strongest winds to the northwest.

Good Morning,

Outbreaks of rain, some heavy, affect Wales and central and southern parts of England through the morning though these clear to the east. Showers affect western coasts and hills of Ireland, Scotland and northern England - these turn wintry over higher ground. Drier and brighter for eastern parts of Ireland and Scotland. Breezy for all with near gale force winds to the northwest.

Through the afternoon showers and outbreaks of rain ease over England and Wales leaving dry and increasingly bright conditions here. Dry and bright for eastern parts of Scotland and Ireland and for Northern Ireland too though showers persist further west. Staying windy to the northwest. High temperatures at just 4 to 7C for much of Ireland, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and the north of England, 8 to 11C for the rest of England.

Little change into the evening though showers may fade from western Ireland and develop over western Wales and the southwest of England.

Have a good day!

Claire
