Rain and showers, some heavy and thundery, muggy for many, drier in Scotland
Quite a misty and murky start to this morning in some areas, especially where showers fell yesterday. This will be slowly lifting to leave broken cloud and a few bright spells. There could be some patchy drizzle in Northern Ireland and western Scotland as well as southwest England. Feeling muggy for all with lower cloud still affecting eastern coasts of Scotland and northeast England.
The sun will break through in a few areas, but as this happens showers will develop. Most in western, central and southern areas of the UK and across eastern Ireland. The showers then turning heavy and thundery in places into the afternoon. Eastern coasts and Scotland and eastern England as well as western Ireland tending to stay drier. Very warm for most in the sunshine.
Tonight brings some more persistent rain and plenty of mist and murk to southern England and Wales, this edging into the Midlands and East Anglia. Drier elsewhere with a fair amount of cloud and some mist patches. Low cloud affecting the coasts of eastern Scotland and northeast England. Remaining humid.
