Warmest in southeast
Good morning,
A complex shallow area of low pressure moves slowly over the British Isles today. Humid southerly air over much of Britain. Thundery troughs drift northwards over England and eastern Scotland giving locally intense downpours.
A cold front advances gradually east-northeast over the Irish Sea into western Britain giving some patchy rain. Fresher Atlantic westerly air follows over Ireland.
A lot of cloud for most places today, some hazy sun may break through in places. Brighter skies in the west of Ireland.
The week ahead is likely to see high pressure rebuild from the west into midweek, bringing settled weather and good amounts of sun for the second half of the week. Southern areas still have a chance of some showers.
Today's top temperatures 18 to 24C, warmest in East Anglia and the southeast.
Have a great day. Garry
