Warmest in east
Good morning,
Pressure will build from the south-west today as a trough of low pressure and fronts clear away eastwards.
Overnight rain may linger much of the morning in north-east Scotland, but will soon clear for many. Showers will break out increasingly for northern Britain & Ireland, spreading from the west - local heavy downpours by afternoon and evening.
Central & southern Britain should be largely dry and warm, with rare showers. The far south-east may see early rain, perhaps locally thundery, but soon clearing. Sunny spells breaking through for much of England & Wales.
A fresh westerly breeze. Today's top temperatures 16 to 19C in Scotland & western regions elsewhere, but central & eastern England will reach 21 to 24C.
Have a great day. Garry
