Mostly dry with variable cloud cover

Mostly dry but some patchy rain across northern and western coasts and hills with rather alot of cloud about and feeling cool.

A few showers down eastern coasts initially then main focus of showers is across northwest England, north and west of hills as well as affecting north Wales. Drier elsewhere. A fair amount of cloud about but some sunnier spells too. Thicker cloud and drizzle pushing in to west Scotland and northwest Ireland later.

Outbreaks of rain and drizzle spreading across Scotland overnight. This largely clearing much of central and western parts through the early hours while the rain pushes into northern and central areas of England and north Wales by morning.

Highs below average for the time of year, around 15 and 21C, warmest further east and southeast.
