Morning Call - January 21, 2024
Increasingly stormy
Heavy rain in west

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 21st January 2024
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Widespread gales into this evening

Good morning,

It's an increasingly wild weather story day as Storm Isha moves in from the Atlantic.

Gales around west and southern coastal areas will become severe into the afternoon and evening. Severe gales developing over Ireland, will extend into northern England and southern Scotland by this evening. Gusts over 70-80mph in exposed spots.

Heavy rain will also develop from the west, widely across Ireland, Wales, northwest England, southwest and central Scotland later. A threat of flooding developing.

Central, south and eastern England will stay dry much of the daytime, but rain moves through tonight.

Today's top temperatures rising to a much milder 10 to 13C, but not feeling that mild due to the strong winds.

Have a great day.
Garry
