Flooding risk in north-west this weekend
Good morning,
It stays windy today, reaching gale force in the south-west, and strengthening south-westerly winds will spread across the Midlands and south into this evening, gusting 40 or 50mph even inland, locally stronger on exposed coasts.
Rain will set in from the west, turning heavy and prolonged over the hills of Wales and north-west England, leading to possible flooding during the weekend. Patchy rain will spread across central and eastern areas by afternoon, turning persistent.
Scotland will see rain arrive in the south-west, whilst wintry showers affect northern areas, but the east stays drier and brighter. Chilly for northern Britain at 8 to 10C, but reaching 14C in the south.
Have a great day. Garry
