Dull and wet, heavy rain spreads east
A dry and cold start to the morning in eastern parts of England and Scotland. Rain in Ireland, some of it heavy with stronger winds, will be passing eastwards during the morning. This heavy rain mostly affecting western Scotland, western Wales and southwest England.
The heavy rain transfers eastwards through the rest of Scotland and England this afternoon. Again it will be heavy in places and could lead to some local flooding. Snow over the hills of central and western Scotland. Rain too in much of Ireland, but showery to the south. Some brighter spells but heavy showers following into southern Wales and southwest England later. Windy tonight in England, Wales and Ireland. Rain in Wales and northern England as well as te Midlands and East Anglia later. More patchy rain in northern England and Scotland.
