Cloudy with further mix of snow and rain for western Scotland and N.Ireland, later remainder of Scotland with showers following. Patchy frost for Highland, Argyll to Stirling to Aberdeenshire, slow to clear briefly 2-4C though 4-6C on and near western coasts. Windy with fresh SW wind. Cloudy for northwest England and Wales with rain through the day and an increasing SW wind, less cold though high windchill. Rain will be prolonged and heavy through Cumbria and Lancashire and Gwynedd to Clywd during the morning clearing to sunshine and showers through the afternoon. Midlands and southern and eastern England rain becoming patchy through the morning and into the afternoon as rain clears across Norfolk to Kent by evening Further prolonged and heavy rain from the southwest into Cornwall and Devon, then Dyfed and Glamorgan through the evening and persisting overnight becoming cloudy with a freshening SW wind with rain overnight, transferring across midlands and into eastern England. Becoming increasingly stormy across Scotland, N.Ireland and northern England with coastal gales, prolonged and often heavy rain overnight. temperatures rising slowly and slower with snow cover, precipitation increasingly of rain
